Rey Jimenez, producer of SF HD Remix, is currently hard at work trying to keep development on track. I just chatted with him, and we have decided to hold off on the art updates until we have something more substantial (i.e., screenshots) to show you guys. We know expectations are high, and he’s working hard to make sure the game meets those expectations.

However, part of his job is pleasing you guys, the fans. So rest assured he’s keeping up with all the comments you guys post here and on the forums. And he’ll definitely be addressing certain issues or questions that come up now and then through me, by way of this blog.

One thing I brought up with him earlier today was the 16:9 versus 4:3 concerns that have been coming up, because I wanted to have a response to share with you. Basically he is well aware that HD means widescreen, and he is well aware that taking a 4:3 game and increasing the width of the playing field would greatly change the dynamics of the game. Rey is currently working on options to address this, including having some sort of artwork or something fill in the side bars left by having the 4:3 play screen in the middle of the widescreen area. So that’s currently under evaluation, and it definitely won’t change the gameplay in a negative way.
